Yes, Vincent's is much better for us out here in Nebraska.
Is anyone interested in a theme? I was just talking to Preacha, and then Tibbs and Jennever over the weekend about these mixes and how everyone's individual personalities really shine through on them. I was noticing that while I might share a lot of the same bands with my friends, there's something different in each of those bands that we each like, so, say we all made compilations of our favorite Beatles songs, or Van Halen songs, or Dwight Yoakham songs.... we'd pick different ones based on what we like about them. Mine would always be the downer ones with a major 7 chord in there somewhere. I'm still looking for that one in Dwight's discography.
<QUOTE>Is anyone interested in a theme?</QUOTE> I always use a theme. Generally, it's "the most recent releases that I own." Gotta set some parameters, and narrow the playing field, because it's the only way my OCD brain can wrap itself around the sheer volume of music I'd have to pick from.
for those reading who don't know what we are talking about. Once everyone who wants to be involved chimes in, everyone then makes a mix CD and makes enough copies for everyone involved. We meet up and exchange the discs and voila, you walk away with a stack of new music that will take you months to listen to.

For those that are feeling a bit in the dark. Great place, great beer, great food. The tap list on the web site is very out of date, but... 80 taps, something for anyone who likes beer. :P
Wow, so there was a third one huh? Yeah, I must have been completely submerged in Natty Boh and crab.
So we have 11 as of right now and I think we should cut it off at 15. Dec 1st sounds awesome to me. I'd love to keep it in Worcester if we could. Someplace besides Vincents would be great. Anyone have any place new that they have been wanting to check out?
My suggestion for location is that new place in Kelly Sq, Takara. Sushi, steak, "exotic" drinks. I think this would be a damn good time plus alot of us would be trying a new place and supporting a brand new business at the same time.
If yah don't mind me chiming in.... the infamous Wilson was cooking at Takara this past weekend. But he will only be there for a couple more weeks. after that....i don't know who'll be cooking.
Wilson is opening a new place on Park Ave called BaBa. I HIGHLY recommend it because not only is Wilson AWESOME ( lovelovelove him) he let's the booze flow generously, is THE BEST sushi chef around and is excellant at Kung Fu. What else could yah want?
I'll be finding out the opening date soon. I dont have much to offer for the CD exchange but I can serve y'all some hot Sake! yum
We were in the bar from probably 7-7:30, then in the restaurant until 9:30 or 10 (it was hard to keep track of the time, after sampling a lot of the different beer). When were you there?
Linnea wrote: Is the official date for this December 1st? I will be somewhere far, far warmer than Worcester that weekend, but if it's any other time I can make it.
I think gabefuckingrollins should shutthefuckup. I have been working on my disc of jazz and blues from the 20's and 30's for 2 weeks now. I will be at the fucking Horsecrap on the 1st and you can buy me a belated birthday beer, bitch.
I'm planning on sending CDs even though I won't be there, mine is all set I just have to make copies and hand them off to someone to bring for me. How many do we need now?
i got my mix ready but my burner is being a b*tch i suppose i could use another week to fight with it Dec 9th what time? whats the head count up to now? 13?
help! please?! i keep getting errors trying to burn my cd's. can someone please help me trouble shoot the problem?
my success/failure ratio is 3 good 7 in the trash. I have always used Nero for burning music with only occassional problems.. one of my tracks is write protected so i switched to Windows Media players burning funtion ( got 2 good ones) and then all this week the process kept failing. I re-ripped the liscenced song so that it would work in Nero and just now had a success (yay) followed by 4 failures. Nero is telling me that " A Reset has occured".
iTunes 7 is real nice. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to make a cd, make a playlist with the songs you want and you can burn a disc of that playlist from iTunes. You can set what type of disc you want (audio/data/mp3) in preferences.
I don't know if that will solve your problems but it's a nice mp3 player/ burning program
You may have other configuration issues causing the problem, without knowing the specs of the computer it's hard to troubleshoot.
thx i really hope i can get this working...i have been making all original artwork for each individual cd cover. i would like to fix Nero but i'll check out iTunes too

It does sound like you have some computer issues beyond the burning software. Drivers for the cd burner could be updated. How much ram does your computer have and how much free hard drive space is there?
I had a problem with mine, then I had one of my computer genius friends look at it and they fixed it in 3 minutes. If you don't have a computer genius friend maybe you should just make a copy of the CD on someone else's computer until you find a computer genius friend.
Unfortunately i'm going to have to drop out of this one. I found out too late & just don't have the time to put it together. Got too many things to take care of before hitting Florida on Sat. I already know how i want to put the next one together.......so i guess i'll see y'all at the next one in the spring!!

How about this. Let's meet at 7am on a street corner where kids are waiting for the school bus. How funny would that be?
But seriously, how about a pubby restaurant where we can eat, drink and be Mary.
Wonder Bar on Shrewsbury Street?
Sounds great to me.

How about the place up on Hamilton St? Is it the Cosmopolitan?

Do it at the Continental's night-before-Thanksgiving party. That way Gabe & I won't even have to carry anything.
Re: VBCD Exchange 4.0
I like the Hudson idea. Jennever and I would not be able to make the Thanksgiving Eve gathering since we will be in Maine.

Thanksgiving week is tough for me too, but Hudson is peachy this time of year.
